The MIKA Socks are timeless, practical and quietly beautiful: the kind of hand-knit pair you reach for on cold mornings, slow weekends and cozy evenings at home. In the photos, the socks are knitted in a soft oatmeal-beige shade with a gentle woolly halo, giving the clean vertical ribbing a warm, natural look. The small rolled edge at the cuff adds an easy, relaxed finish without making the sock feel fussy.

The sock is worked from the top down in rounds on double-pointed needles. After 5 rounds of stockinette create the rolled edge, the 3:1 rib pattern begins and continues down the leg and across the instep all the way toward the toe. The heel and sole are worked in stockinette stitch, with shaping made through increases, short rows and decreases.

Because the construction is worked in the round from the cuff down, you can try on the sock as you knit and adjust the foot length to fit beautifully. The result is a comfortable ribbed wool sock with a neat heel, rounded toe and enough stretch to make it a lovely handmade gift.
